Hi my loves xoxo
If you are like me and love absolutely everything about Make-Up then this will be right up your alley. I love experimenting with make-up looks over the festive season. During the summer we tend to stick to more neutral colours and bronzed looks but for Christmas there are a whole range of colours and glitters available to play with. I love being a bit more adventurous with make up in the winter because with party season just around the corner, all that glitters is good in my books.
I've chosen a few of my favourite make up looks that I hope to recreate this Christmas. Some are quite out there and some are a bit more subdued, Regardless of your taste in make-up I'm sure there's something here that will take your fancy.
First on the list is a look by +Nicole Guerriero
I absolutely love this look. I know green eyeshadow wont be everyone's cup of tea but it is stunning on people with brown or hazel eyes. This look was created using the +LORAC Cosmetics pro mega 3 palette and she teamed it with 2 different lip looks so whether you like a nude lip or something darker this look will suit both.
This next look was created by +Carli Bybel using the Morphe Palette 35N and it is stunning. She uses a few different cranberry and neutral colours on her eyes and a Gerard Cosmetics lipstick in the shade Cherry Cordial. I've recently ordered 5 of the Gerard Cosmetics lipsticks including cherry cordial so ill keep you posted on how I feel about them. Cranberry eye-shadow is one of those colours that will suit everyone. This look is perfect for any occasion.
This look is a little more subdued and classic. It was done by +Casey Holmes using the Morphe 35T palette and the Smashbox shape matters palette. She creates a smoky eye using soft browns and adds fluffy lashes and winged liner. Flawless foundation and soft contouring allows the eyes to be the main feature. This look can be worn with most lip colours but red adds truly a touch of classic glam.
I know this look wont be eyeryone's cup of tea but I adore it. +Bailey Van Der Veen uses cruelty free products for this look which I admire her for doing so because they are not easy to find. She achieved the look on the eyes by using +Urban Decay Cosmetics Vice 4 palette, if you haven't seen this palette you definitely need it in your life, its stunning. She teamed the colourful eye look with a berry lip and its just gorgeous. Perfect for any party or festive occasion.
I've always been a fan of neutral smoky eyes and this one is just stunning. +KathleenLights creates this glittery brown look using a mixture of +MAC Cosmetics, +AnastasiaBeverlyHills and +Makeup Geek shadows. This look will suit everyone as neutral shades are universal, you just need to find the right shade for your skin tone. This look could be paired with any lip colour so experiment with a few shades to find your perfect combo.
This is probably the most subtle festive look of them all but that doesn't make it any less beautiful. +TanyaBurr chose a soft, classic winged liner and red lip and its stunning. She used the Revlon colourburst matte balm in the colour 'striking' to achieve that beautiful red lip and for the liner she used the Revlon colourstay skinny liquid liner. Classic glam at its finest.
This is probably my favourite look of them all. I adore a dark smoky eye and I think it would suit almost everyone. Lauren Curtis uses a mixture of +theBalm Cosmetics, +MAC Cosmetics and +NYX Cosmetics to create this look. I don't think I can pull off a nude lip so I would probably team this with a pop of colour (either Burgundy or red) but it does look fabulous with a nude lip as all the focus is on the eyes. This look would be ideal for a Christmas party night or a night out with the girls.
Now all I need are a few occasions to try out all of these looks. Maybe I'll just spend my day off in my pyjamas putting on make up and feeling fabulous. There are looks to suit everyone for every occasion. Don't be afraid to experiment a bit with make up. Life is too short to be afraid to rock a smoky eye or wear a purple lipstick. Experimenting with make up allows us to learn how to highlight our best features while camouflaging the areas of our faces that we do not like. I love wearing brightly coloured lipstick but my lips aren't the fullest so I've learned to overdraw them slightly to give them a fuller look without looking too fake. Practice makes perfect and with such a vast variety of make up products available you're sure to find products to suit your needs.
The most beautiful makeup of a woman is passion. But cosmetics are easier to buy.”
Love
Kim xoxo
