Every time I travel I have the hardest time trying to decide what eyeshadow palettes to bring with me. A lot of my eyeshadow palettes are quite big and not ideal to pack and I have often taken up a lot of space in my luggage bringing over sized heavy makeup items that I don't need. I have put together my top 5 palettes that are perfect for taking away on either a weekend break or a 2 week vacation.
1. +ZoevaCosmetics Cocoa Blend Palette
This palette has everything you will need for a subtle daytime look or a dramatic evening smokey eye. This palette is flat and extremely light, ideal for packing in your suitcase. The colours are highly pigmented and they blend beautifully. This was the only eyeshadow palette that I brought to Florida and Mexico in September and it worked for every occasion.
2. +Urban Decay Cosmetics Naked Basics Palette
This one is an oldie but a goodie. If you are like me and prefer wearing neutral colours then this is the palette for you. It has 6 extremely pigmented shadows that blend like butter. The first 3 shades I use every day and the last 3 shades I use to deepen my crease and create depth for an evening look. This palette is extremely compact and will fit in any makeup bag.
3. +Too Faced Cosmetics Chocolate Bar
This palette is slightly bigger then the rest but definitely worth packing if you are only going to bring one palette and want a variety of colours including burgundy, browns and purples. I fell in love with this palette as soon as I saw it and it is definitely worth every penny. If you are a bit braver with your eyeshadow colours this palette is ideal for neutral or bright colourful looks.
4. +Too Faced Cosmetics Stardust Palette
I have raved about this palette before and I still love it today as much as I did last year. This is my go to palette for bringing to Las Vegas. It has subtle everyday colours but it also has bright, glittery colourful shades that are perfect for wearing at night (or during the day if you want, its Vegas, anything goes). I love every single one of these colours and have used them all on different occasions. This palette is extremely flat and very lightweight so it will fit into most makeup bags. this gets a 10/10 for an ideal travel eyeshadow palette.
5. +zpalette
Last but not least is the Zpalette. These palettes are perfect for people on the go or that travel alot. These palettes can be found in +Sephora, +Make Up For Ever, +eBay etc. They are everywhere and most of them are quite inexpensive. They are magnetic palettes that you can add all your own eyeshadows, blushes, highlights and contour shades to. You can customise them any way you want which makes them ideal for travel as you do not have to bring 3 different eyeshadow palettes with you for a variety of different colours. They come in a huge range of different patterns, colours and sizes so there is something to suit everyone. A must if you are indecisive like me and sometimes don't know what palettes to pack, these will solve all your problems.
Sometimes all I want to do when I travel is pack every single palette I own but because my luggage is always quite limited I need to pack sensibly (something that has taken me nearly 10 years to perfect). This selection of palettes will suit every ones needs be it for a weekend away with the girls or a 2 week holiday in the sun. Happy Friday xoxo
