Top 5 Foundations for Summer

Lets face it ladies when we wear foundation in the heat we sometimes end up looking like we have just ran a 5k race. When choosing a foundation to wear in warmer weather look for a lightweight liquid, mousse or mineral foundation. Always use a good primer before applying foundation. I have chosen 5 of my favourite foundations for warmer weather. All are lightweight with light to medium coverage. They are all buildable so you can opt for fuller coverage without the heaviness of a thick foundation. And as an added bonus they are all under €15.

Rimmel wake me up foundation €10.99

This foundation has medium coverage with a light dewy finish. It is moisturising and goes on smoothly and evenly. It instantly reawakens the skin leaving it with a natural looking glow. Suitable for all skin types. Because it has a dewy finish ladies with oily skin be prepared to bring a light powder or oil blotting sheets to touch up during the day.

Maybelline fit me foundation €11.99

This foundation has a very natural finish. It has no oils and has a lightweight feel on the skin. It has light to medium coverage and is buildable for more coverage. It is suitable for all skin types and leaves the skin fresh and breathable. This foundation is a must for quick and easy application and comes in a wide variety of shades.


Rimmel stay matte foundation €7.99

Rimmel stay matte foundation is like liquid mousse. It blends flawlessly for a shine free, natural looking face. It minimises the appearance of pores and it is completely oil free for a shine free finish. Ideal for oily or combination skin this foundation will last for hours.


Maybelline Dream Flawless Nude Foundation €10.49

This extremely fine foundation gives more coverage that it would seem. Its texture is almost feather light but its coverage is second to none. It has medium coverage but is also buildable so your face looks flawless without being weighed down. This foundation is suitable for all skin types and is a must for the summer months.

Catrice 12hr Matte Mousse Foundation €5.49

This mousse is silky smooth and applies evenly and flawlessly. When applied it has a powdery feel but it feels light and airy and doesn't get cakey. I was never a fan of mousse foundations in the past having tried a few I felt they dried out my skin but this was a game changer for me. At less than €6 I would definitely recommend giving this a try.

I have tried and tested all the foundation above and I have to say I love them all. My favourite of the 5 would have to be the Maybelline Fit Me foundation. It is the easiest to apply in a hurry and it has the most natural flawless finish. I use it every day and swear by it for work because I don't have to touch up during the day. After the Maybelline Fit Me foundation I would have to say the Maybeline dream flawless nude foundation is my second favourite. I swear by this one when I travel. It is ideal for during the day and buildable for nighttime. I normally use my mineral foundation over the dream flawless nude foundation for a flawless picture ready complexion.

I hope this helps those of you looking for affordable, light foundations for the summer months. With the most expensive being €11.99 they are definitely worth a try.
