Blonder Than Barbie goes to Florida and Las Vegas part 2

Hi my loves xoxo

This post will be part 2 of my holiday blog.... The fabulous Las Vegas. My favourite place in the world so far. There's loads to cover so lets get stuck in.

So after 4 days in Florida we flew to Las Vegas. We flew out of Orlando airport at about 9:30 am into Charlotte (again!!) we had a 2 hour layover, plenty of time for breakfast and a mimosa and then we boarded our plane to Vegas. Flight time from Charlotte to Vegas is about 4 1/2 hours give or take. It was a nice flight, not too long and they offer free tea, coffee, soft drinks and water. They also offer food to purchase but we ate in the airport so we didn't order anything. We landed in Las Vegas International Airport and collected our bags. We hired a car for the week as we always do so we don't have to get taxis to and from the Airport. It gives you the freedom to drive off the strip for shopping or out to red rock canyon without relying on public transport. We drove to our hotel and checked into our room. We booked Harrah's hotel and casino this year because it was more central and because it was a special occasion we wanted somewhere in the middle of the strip.

Harrah's hotel and casino is located quite central on the strip, right beside the Linq hotel. The Linq is a newer hotel with the worlds biggest observation wheel. Its definitely a sight to see but we've yet to go up, it scares me a bit because its so big but its on my list of thing's to do when we go back next year.

Harrah's, like many other hotels in Vegas, is designed with a specific theme, like Circus Circus... I'm sure you can guess what theme that one has or New York New York, another obvious one. Then there's the Luxor designed with an Egyptian theme and Paris has a Parisian theme. Harrah's has a fun and colourful Mardi Gras theme. None of the hotels have obnoxious over the top decor but they have certain aspects of the themes which make them all unique. Harrah's is a slightly older hotel but it doesn't make it any less amazing.

The rooms are huge and gorgeous, I was surprised at how big it was. The bed was massive and so comfy and the bathroom had loads of room for both of us to get ready at the same time. I would definitely stay at this hotel again, it was definitely worth the money.

We decided before we went on holiday that we would book week long tickets for the monorail. It gets quite warm during the day and with the strip being approximately 4 miles long its a long way to walk in 35 degree desert heat. We paid $56 each for the week and it was worth every penny. It allows you to use the monorail all day every day as many times as you like at any station you like. It was definitely a bargain. We had a monorail station in our hotel so it made it even easier to hop on every day and travel the length of the strip in minutes rather than being stuck in traffic or walking everywhere in that heat.

While we were there we shopped until we dropped. We ate, drank and enjoyed every second that we were there. There are shows to suit everyone's taste, we went to see Rock of Ages last year and we enjoyed it that much that we went to see it again. The movie with Tom Cruise is based off this show and I have to say its one of the best shows on the strip, we've seen it twice and I enjoyed it as much the second time as I did the first.

The obligatory huge mirror beside the elevators selfie with my hubby, it would have been rude not to.

I could go on and on about where to shop and where to eat but I would be here all day so ill leave it there but stay tuned because I will be doing a post about the make-up I bought in Sephora. Everything I purchased we cannot get here in Ireland so it was a real novelty to be able to pick up everything I've had on my "to buy" list for ages. That's all for now Dolls, its currently 2:45 am and I'm going to bed. Feel free to ask any questions and ill get back to you asap x

Love

Kim xoxo
