Hi my loves xoxo
Recently I purchased 5 Gerard Cosmetics lipsticks after a few people got in touch to ask me to do a review on them. I had heard great reviews by people on you tube and I have been meaning to buy them for quite some time but I wasn't sure where to get them. I follow Gerard Cosmetics on Instagram and they posted a bundle deal that if you purchased 5 lipsticks you got them for $45. I jumped at the chance to avail of this offer and I got 5 of the most amazing shades they had to offer.
There are about 23 colours to choose from so the decision wasn't easy. I decided to go for mostly rich Autumn/Winter colours because these are the colours that suit me best. From left to right I chose Grape Soda, Cherry Cordial, Fire Engine, All Dolled Up and Kiss and Tell.
I am always a bit sceptical about buying lipsticks that I cant swatch and see how they look. I love being able to see the the colours and feel the texture of the lipstick so buying these on line made me really anxious. These aren't available In Ireland so you can only buy them on line. With the bundle deal I got free shipping but be careful when ordering items outside of the E.U. because there will be a customs charge. I was charged about €16.50 in total in Ireland, €7 of that being a fee for An Post to hold my item which is a bit ridiculous but I paid it so I could get my package.
From left to right: Grape Soda (Matte) Cherry Cordial (Matte) Fire Engine (Matte) All Dolled Up (Matte) and Kiss and Tell (Satin)
You can buy them here www.gerardcosmetics.com/lipstick.html
All the lipsticks came in little boxes and when I opened them the packaging was gorgeous. They look like little golden bullets and they are really good quality. I swatched all 5 colours and I have to say the pigment is really good. They aren't the most pigmented colours I have ever owned but they do look beautiful on. I choose mostly matte colours as I find these stay on the lips longer than the cream lipsticks. I don't like matte lipsticks that are too drying but these are matte but with a soft slight cream like texture. Fire Engine has a texture like Ruby Woo from Mac, it's a little more dry but it still feels lovely on the lips.
When I started following Gerard Cosmetics on +Instagram the only colour I really really wanted was All Dolled Up, it reminds me of Candy Yum Yum from mac and it's stunning but when I swatched Grape Soda I fell in love. It's a beautiful Light grape purple and I have to say that pictures don't do it justice. I have yet to find a lip pencil to match the colour so if you know of any that would be a similar purple colour please let me know.
I chose to wear Kiss and Tell for a day out shopping and it is the perfect pink for every day wear. It has a satin finish so it's not super glossy but it still has a nice sheen to it. I'm hoping to do a few different looks with the other colours so ill keep you posted on them as well. All in all I really like the lipsticks and I would definitely purchase more. I have my eye on a few of the more neutral shades that I don't normally tend to wear but I might mix up my make up routine and give them a try. 1995, French Toast, Kimchi Doll and Nude are all stunning neutral colours so they would probably make the cut for my next order along with Mai-Tai, I'm intrigued as to how that orange colour would look on.
That's about it you guys I hope this helps. I'm really impressed with the quality of these lipsticks and who knows maybe some day I'll have all the colours in my collection. Have an amazing weekend xx
Love
Kim xoxo
