June Favourites

Hello my loves xoxo

Happy Wednesday  x I cant believe June is over already. It seems to just go by in a flash and sometimes I loose track of time. Its been a hot minute since Ive done a post or updated my social media. I have been super busy over the past few weeks and everything has been put on the back burner but I'm back and I have loads to talk about. June was a hectic month full of meetings and work but that didn't stop me from trying new things and testing new products.

First on my list of favourites are some haircare products. I have been bleaching my hair for what seems like forever and I have picked up a few tips and tricks along the way. I have had really good and really bad experiences with bleach in the past. I am currently giving my hair a break as it is starting to become weak again. There is only so much your hair can take when it comes to processing it with chemicals and sometimes you need to just let it breathe.

+Pureology Serious Colour Care  Strength Cure Shampoo and Conditioner

You guys!!! This shampoo and conditioner is AMAZING.... I am always on the lookout for shampoo and conditioner that will help maintain and/or repair my hair. I have been dying my hair silver since Christmas and its become weak and thin, its partly due to the 40 vol peroxide my hairdresser was using and not telling me about and my negligence towards my haircare routine. I have decided to give my hair some breathing space and to focus on some damage control. This shampoo and conditioner have breathed new life into my hair and are my new holy grail products. They are quite pricey at about €15-€20 a bottle but its super concentrated so a little does go a really long way. I have been using it for weeks and have barely made a dent in the bottles. Definitely worth the money for the results that these products give.

+CharlesWorthingtonUK Moisture Seal Overnight Ultimate Hair Healer

I have used Products from Charles Worthington before and I have to say I didn't love them. A woman that I work with suggested this product to me after I told her my hair felt a little damaged and it is probably the most amazing hair treatment (apart from Olaplex) that I have ever used. It is an overnight treatment that doubles hair strength and seals in moisture for dry or damaged hair. You apply it to dry hair from root to tip, leave it overnight and then rinse it out in the morning if your hair is clean when it was applied, if your hair was not freshly washed you can go ahead and shampoo and condition your hair as normal and voila, soft, silky smooth hair. Its a must if you want to give your hair a little T.L.C.

Argan Oil Of Morocco

This Oil is liquid gold. It smells amazing. the benefits are amazing and you only need a small amount so the bottle will last you months. Apply it to clean towel dried hair and style as normal. Your hair will feel silky, smooth and frizz free. I will be stocking up on this for the rest of the Summer and Autumn.

+TRESEMME Perfectly Undone Sea Salt Spray

When I bought this I had my holidays in mind. I'm going to Orlando Florida and Mexico in September and I wanted something for me hair that was quick and hastle free. I expected this product to smell earthy or like the sea but it doesn't, that was a little disappointing because I love the smell of salt water. When I opened the bottle it did smell amazing, definitely more like a conditioner than a salt spray but gorgeous none the less. For those of you that have naturally curly or wavy hair (you lucky people) all you have to do it spray it onto damp hair and either dry with a diffuser or scrunch and air dry. If you have poker straight hair like me, dry your hair to about 60% and section into 3 parts. Spray the product into your hair and twist into little buns. Finish drying your hair and let out your buns. You will have gorgeous beachy waves that will last all day.

That's it for hair products, I have a few makeup products that I think are worth a mention.

+CHANEL Tan De Soleil

I know I have mentioned this product before but it definitely warrants another mention in my June Favourites. I have used it quite a few times and I love it more and more every time I use it. I did a blog post about it a few months ago if you want to know more. Its a bit pricey but its worth every penny.

I am not a huge fan of BB or CC creams for daily use. I prefer a full coverage product as my skin tone is quite uneven. Any BB creams that I have used in the past have been quite watery and transparent. Yes they do give slight coverage and are good for the skin but I use them more when I'm away and when I done need full coverage. This +e.l.f. Cosmetics BB cream on the other hand is the complete opposite. Its thick, very pigmented for a BB cream and it feels like a foundation. It's extremely lightweight and gives just enough coverage to my skin to look natural but not cakey. It has an SPF of 20 and goes onto the skin like a dream.

+Clinique UK Beyond Perfecting Foundation and Concealer

I'm not going to lie, when I first tried this foundation I didn't love it. I was in Las Vegas and I was tired and dehydrated so it probably wasn't the best time to try it. The Las Vegas heat is intense and I don't usually wear liquid foundation during the day as it normally melts off my face but I decided to give this one a shot. I didn't like it at all. It was heavy and thick and basically everything that could go wrong in the heat went wrong with this foundation. When I got home I decided to give it another try, I usually try products a few times before I make up my mind on them. After using a few different techniques to apply this foundation I fell in love with it. I find its best applied with a flat top foundation brush and then pounced into the skin with a beauty blender (I love the +realtechniques beauty blender).  This foundation has a doe foot applicator so it picks up a lot of product, I think this is why I initially didn't like it, there was too much product on my face so it felt cakey. A little goes a long way with this foundation. Its medium to full coverage and it can also be used to spot conceal areas that have imperfections. Its smooth and silky. After a few hiccups it has become one of my favourites.

+Inglot Durlaine

I have only recently, maybe in the past 6 months, discovered Inglot makeup. Why did I not know about this company before now?? Their products are amazing and quite reasonably priced. When I did a bit of research about the products 2 items in particular seemed to be extremely popular, Durlaine and their eyeliner gel in no.77. I hadn't a clue what Duraline was for so while I was In Las Vegas in April I went to the Inglot store and had a chat with the girl about these products. We swatched a few different products and added Duraline and I was blown away. Honestly as a makeup artist you'd think that I would be a bit more savvy in the makeup world but I had honestly never used anything like it. You can transform any powder pigment into a waterproof liquid liner, shadow or anything else you wanted. It rescues gel products that have dried up and makes them like new again. This little bottle hasn't left my side since I bought it and it will continue to remain part of my kit for the foreseeable future.

+Inglot Gel Liner in 77

As mentioned above I had to have this gel liner. This little gem has been my go to eyeliner since April, I cant get enough of it. Its pitch black and goes on smoother than silk. It can be used as a top liner and for your waterline and/or tight line. I don't really need to elaborate on it as it does exactly what it is supposed to do. I will be stocking up on this and using it until I die.

+LauraMercierCosmetics Secret Brightening Powder

Laura Mercier Secret Brightening Powder

It seems like everyone in the You Tube and Instagram world raves about this product. I have used brightening powders before and the flashback in photos from them had been disastrous. I decided to test this one out for myself and initially I did not like it. When it comes to using new makeup products it's all about trial and error. I first used this product for an event I was attending and lets just say the pictures speak for themelves. The flashback under my eyes made it look like I had 2 white eyepatches stuck there for everyone to see. Lets move on to attempt number 2. I used A LOT less product than the first time and it worked like a dream. Do not... I repeat do not pile this on under your eyes like you would with a regular translucent powder. I used it to bake under my eyes and that was a complete disaster. Gently sweep a small amount under the eyes after you've applied your concealer and you will instantly see the results. It covers dark circles, makes your eyes appear bigger and instantly brightens. Its a thumbs up from me for this product.

+BECCA Cosmetics Shimmering Skin Perfector in Pearl

Becca Highlighter in Pearl

Pearl on the left compared to Champagne Pop on the right

If some of you have been following me for a while you will know that last year I picked up +Jaclyn Hill and Becca Cosmetics highlighter in Champagne Pop and I LOVE it. It has been my favourite for nearly a year. This year I decided to purchase another highlighter from the range and I was torn between Pearl, Opal and Moonstone. In the end and after million of swatches I decided to go with Pearl and I am so glad I did. IT IS STUNNING. Every time I use these products I am blown away by how gorgeous they are, The formula is amazing and the colours are just beautiful. I really just want to wear this all over my face every day. Enough said, I am completely addicted to these products. The other colours are on my list of things to buy for September.

+Too Faced Cosmetics Chocolate Bar Palette

Next we have the Too Faced Chocolate bar Palette. This product isn't new on the market and I put off buying it for so long because I love my +ZoevaCosmetics Cocoa Blend palette so much. I decided to buy this palette because I had hear so many great reviews about it and I know how good Too Faced products are. This palette is everything and all of the colours are stunning. Like all Too Faced shadows they are silky, blendable, highly pigmented and gorgeous. This palette is a must if like me you travel a lot and don't want to over pack your makeup, this has all the colours you would need for daytime and evening looks.

Rosie for Autograph Make Up Brushes

Last but not least are these make up brushes from +Rosie Huntington-Whiteley for +M&S. Her makeup range is exclusive to Marks and Spencer's and I have quite a few of her products but I had to give a mention to these makeup brushes. They are all synthetic and they are amazingly soft. There are 4 brushes in the pack, a powder brush, a contouring brush, an angled blush brush and a small eyeshadow brush. The rose gold and black detail on these brushes make them look way more expensive than they are and for the price (€38) they are amazing quality. They have been my go to brushes for the past few months and I'm loving them.

That's all for my June Favourites for now. I do have more products that I am trying out at the minute so hopefully they will make it to my next batch of fav's. I hope you all have a lovely week and I will be back soon with another post.

Love

Kim xoxo
