Happy Monday xoxo
Another week gone and another Monday comes too quickly, I cant believe its August 15th already....... But on a happier note I'm another week closer to my holidays (yay). So being a pasty white Irish person I rely heavily on self tanners for that golden glow. I have being wearing self tanners for years and I have tried and tested quite a few. I have been trying a few new ones as I am travailing to Mexico in 5 weeks and I want to bring one that will look natural and last as long as possible. I always feel more confident in myself when I wear tan, I feel like I look healthier, slimmer and have an overall nicer glow when I am not snow white. There is absolutely nothing wrong with embracing your light skin and I have the utmost admiration for those people that are comfortable embracing their Irish paleness. Being Irish I have quite a lot of freckles so my skin tone is quite uneven and I feel like when I wear self tanner it evens out my skin alot. I do have loads of favourite tanning products but I'm going to list my top 6 because I would be here all day if I listed them all.
First on the list is an oldie but a goodie. St.Tropez Bronzing Mousse €43
This Self tanner has always been my favourite. I have been using St. Tropez tan for about 13 years and it never fails to amaze me. It goes on evenly, develops beautifully and wears off like a dream. I apply it with a tanning mitt, the +Cocoa Brown Tan double sided mitt is my favourite. I prefer a mousse tan because I find it easier to apple but the liquid version of this is just as stunning.
Next is the +Cocoa Brown Tan Dark Self Tanning Mousse €8
This +Cocoa Brown Tan 1 hour self tanner is amazing. It is a mousse tan that when applied develops in an hour for a gorgeous golden glow. I do leave all my self tanners on over night but if you were in a hurry to go somewhere this tan would be ideal as it does develop quite quickly and the colour payoff is amazing. It applies like a dream and develops so evenly you wont be disappointed.
Third on the list is the St.Moritz Bronzing Mousse €6
This is another self tanner that develops quite quickly. There are 3 stage of development with this tan, light, medium and dark. If you leave this tan on for 1 hour it will develop to a light golden shade, leave it for 2 hours and it will deepen to a medium glow or leave it for 3 hours for a rich deep shade. As always I leave my tan on overnight and with this tan I was actually shocked at how dark it was. When I washed off the colour guard it did lighten a bit but the colour was deep and gorgeous, just what I wanted. Add some +Cocoa Brown Tan Golden Goddess body shimmer on top and its a match made in heaven.
This post wouldn't be complete without mentioning Sally Hansen Airbrush Legs Spray €14
This Leg makeup is life..... I use the medium glow in the spray and at the minute I have 6 bottles of it because I love it so much I don't want to run out. I have one on hand at all times as it covers a multitude of blemishes and discolouration of the skin. I apply it directly to my legs and buff it in a circular motion with a tanning mitt. I find this gives the most coverage and leaves a more even and natural finish. This does wash off as it an instant tan but don't worry if you are caught in the rain with this on, it wont budge unless you scrub it with soap and water. Definitely a must if you love smooth, airbrushed gorgeous legs.
I couldn't mention the airbrush spray without giving a mention to the Sally Hansen Lotion €17
I have only been using this lotion since last September but I am just as much in love with it as I am the spray. I apply this one to a tanning mitt and buff it in circular motion all over my legs. The coverage is impeccable and it goes on so smoothly. This lotion does take a little more buffing than the aerosol but its worth it because its stunning. This is also a wash off tan but it's great to have if your stuck without time to get a spray tan.
Last but not least has to be the Bellamianta Self Tanning Tinted Lotion €20
I purchased this tan about 2 months ago and I absolutely love it. I did a lot of research about this tan to see if it would be suitable for my skin tone and I have to say that it is an absolutely stunning colour. The longer you leave it the darker it gets but it doesn't leave you looking like you've painted yourself with black or orange paint, its just the perfect shade of golden and looks so natural on the skin. It wares off evenly (if you have a good after tan care routine) and doesn't leave you patchy or scaly. Overall I'm really impressed with this product and I will definitely be repurchasing it.
That's it for my favourite self tanners. I do plan on buying a few more to try out so I will keep you posted if I like them. Have an amazing week.
Lots of love
Kim xoxo
