This or That

Good Morning Loves x

Well it has been a hot minute since I have posted anything.... I have been sooooooo busy that I haven't had a second to myself but I have decided to pencil in some time to get up more posts, I'm hoping for 2-3 a week. They will probably be random and I will throw in a little bit of everything so they aren't all the same, who doesn't like to spice things up a bit x

This Post is going to be a little different than my normal ones. I have decided that each week I will be choosing 2 products and I will be comparing them in detail against each other, one high end product against one drugstore/cheap/budget product. This week I have chosen 2 Primers..... Mac Cosmetics Prep and Prime vs ELF Poreless Face Primer.

Mac Prep and Prime €22

I absolutely LOVE Mac products, anything that I have ever bought from Mac has been a hit for me and this Primer was just as amazing as I had hoped. It is a little pricey at €22 but a little goes a LONG way so the bottle does last you quite a while. This primer is a gel lotion that is formulated with silicones and it evens out skin redness and skin tone while leaving a luminous finish to the skin. I find with this product that if you use just a bit too much your foundation will slide off your skin so definitely be careful with how much you apply. If you want to go for that No Makeup - Makeup look this is perfect to use on its own with some mascara, brow product and sheer lipgloss as it will leave the skin smooth, pore free and glowing.

ELF Poreless Face Primer Between €5 and €10 depending on where you buy it - $6 in Ulta

When I first used this product I loved it, I used it every day and it made my skin look and feel amazing. After using it for a few months I found that it started leaving my skin kind of greasy and shiny so I stopped using it and threw it in the bin. Fast forward about 6 months and I was back in the U.S. so I decided to pick one up to give it another go and I haven't looked back since. This is a silicone based primer so it can be a little greasy but if you use just a small amount and rub it in until it becomes kind of tacky it melts into the skin. I'm not sure why it didn't work for me the first time around but I have grown to love this and I have repurchased it quite a few times.

The Verdict?? For me I would definitely choose the Mac primer over the ELF one. I absolutely love both products but Mac definitely wins for me. There is about €10-€15 difference in the price but hands down I prefer how the mac primer looks, feels, smells and applies.

Stay tuned for more comparison posts and hopefully they will help some of you make up your minds about purchasing certain items.

Have an amazing weekend x

Love

Kim xoxo
