Halloween Costumes - Budget savvy costumes that wont break the bank

Hi my loves xoxo

Happy Tuesday x Halloween is my favorite time of the year, apart from the pumpkin spice flavored everything and cozy sweaters and boots it's also the time of year that you can dress up as anything you like and no-one bats an eyelid. I will be working this Halloween and my work wont allow us to dress up :( but for all of you that are going out and don't know what to dress up as I have made a list of costumes that are quick, easy and cheap as chips but still fabulous. You don't need to be a professional make-up artist or seamstress to make your own costumes, all you need is some patience and a little Imagination.

For the first costume on the list you will need: Black trousers, a black top, black shoes, white facepaint and black facepaint.

Skull Face Costume

The skull face is an oldie but a goodie. All you really need is black and white facepaint, I'd recommend snazaroo facepaints. They are very pigmented water activated facepaints and you can buy them anywhere. I got mine in the Art and Hobby shop and they are about €5 each. There are 3 variations of the skull face, the whole face, the left or right side and the bottom half of the face,  +YouTube has loads of tutorials on how to do them all. Wear all black and you are good to go.

For the second costume you will need: Green facepaint, 2 shades of blue eyeshadow, red lipstick, 2 fake scars, a red wig or red hair spray, a sash, red/black dress and some sort of a red cape/ shawl.

Miss Argentina (beetlejuice) costume

This one has a few more elements to it than the first one but its still quite simple to do. Paint your whole upper body and legs green, get some help with your back. Add the scars with some spirit gum, let it go a bit tacky before sticking it to your wrists, cover them with green face paint. Do your make up with the eye shadow and lipstick, add some lashes and winged eyeliner for a more glam look. Add the wig or coloured hairspray, a red cape and a red dress if you have one. Black would work as well if you didn't have red. If you have a blank sash just use a permanent marker to write Miss Argentina on it. +Nicole Guerriero has an amazing tutorial on her you-tube channel, I recommend scooting on over and having a look.

For the next look you will need a black jacket, black trousers, a white shirt, a red bow-tie, some face paints and a black wig or black hairspray.

Jigsaw Costume

This one is extremely straight forward. Paint your face white and add red lipstick. Draw red swirls on your cheeks and shade with grey eye-shadow. Add dark eye-shadow on the lid and below the lash line along with black eyeliner. Draw 2 lines from the sides of your mouth to your chin to give the illusion of a puppets mouth. If you have a black wig you can wear it or just spray your hair black and your good to go.

For the next look you will need: a black and white stripe top and some black facepaint.

American Football Ref

This one is super simple. Throw on a striped top with whatever bottoms and shoes you like, add a whistle and an american football as props, put some black face paint under your eyes and you are good to go.

For the final costume you will need: a black hat, red bow tie, white shirt, black skirt, red belt, an umbrella, over-sized bag, black tights and black shoes.

Mary Poppins

This one is the easiest of the bunch. Add red flowers to the hat for another pop of colour and do whatever makeup you like. Simple, chic and gorgeous.

So there you have it, a few costume ideas to help if  you are stuck. They are all simple to do and wont break the bank. I hope you all have a fabulous Halloween and be safe x

Love

Kim xoxo
